The Smalls launches new filmmaking competition in association with Cutty Sark
Independent expression is a hallmark of Cutty Sark – as the only Independent London Whisky since 1923, it is not only instantly recognisable, but carries with it a long, colourful and distinct history. It was only a matter of time before some sort of artistic expression inspired by the brand would have to come about. This year, Cutty Sark and The Smalls have teamed up to invite artists and filmmakers to display their unique voice by bringing to life some of the most memorable stories surrounding Cutty Sark whisky.

Cutty Sark and The Smalls are a great fit – independence and individuality being important facets for both. As a resource for independent filmmakers from around the world, The Smalls has always encouraged personal expression and artistic collaboration from its members.

Talented professionals, semi-pros, amateurs and aspiring filmmakers are all a part of The Smalls community, and they understand that telling a tale the way they see it is always more important than high production values.

The competition is a great chance for new and existing members to focus their unique talents as animators, filmmakers, cinematographers and visual artists to create not only a film that pays homage to a particular Cutty Sark story, but to also produce a film that is indeed only something he or she can make.

Apart from being featured in the online gallery on the Cutty Sark website and on Discovery, four winners will be promoted in creative industry press and win a Canon EOS 500D.
