SHOOT LESS, SHOOT MORE

I think some short films are in danger of going so high budget, that they're not being produced as often because they take too long.  Short films should be shot quickly, cheaply, and often, don't you think?  I have a friend who was in pre-production for three months for a 3 minute short!  What gives?

Couldn't agree more. I've seen a short film made on a budget in excess of 1m dollars recently. Production values were spectacular but the story was so watered out - would not have to be the case of course, but happens so often.

Still short films, like any art form, should be good. As long as they are good - who cares how much they cost, how long they took to make or if the filmmaker only makes it once.
