BrevityTV is a collective of video artists working together to create a destination sketch comedy web site. We have launched our project this week, and you can view it at www.BrevityTV.com

We are a volunteer-run, super-organized collective of writers, directors, producers, and actors, with a system in place that we expect will allow us to deliver new sketches weekly. We shoot for mid to high production value on tiny budgets. The philosophy is that we can do much more as a group than we can as the sum of our parts. Folks involved are hand-picked; all are people who are dedicated and talented, and just haven’t found their break yet. So while Brevity is an unpaid opportunity, the reason we are all involved is to CREATE our own breaks and rise with our peers, rather than waiting around for someone to hand us a career.

As we ratchet up our productivity following the imminent launch of our site, we're looking for 1 or 2 producers to join our group. You must be organized, reliable, able to see a project from beginning to end, and more than just a talker. Our teeny little budgets mean you must be creative and resourceful. Time commitment for our producers is a bi-weekly Sunday evening meeting of our entire collective, and then a lunchtime meeting on the Mondays that follow those, plus of course the time it takes to make your shoots happen. You are directly involved in what sketches get made.

While we do paperwork to outline a point-sharing system for each project selected for production, MONEY IS NOT OUR GOAL. No one is making any money here. This is not an opportunity from which you should ever expect anything more than beer money, if that. But when your work is selected, it gets made. You gain an online portfolio of produced material that you can use as a calling card to help you stand out from the crowd of producers applying for those other jobs. (The ones that do pay.)
