Do you have an idea, or even a film, that you think totally speaks to the theme “SIGNS”? Is it funny, dramatic or graphically stunning? Does it tell a story? Or, maybe it’s just original in its own way. Finally - can you get your fabulous idea across in less than 5 minutes? Then what? This what: Think BIG and submit it to the 2007 SMALLS SHOWCASE & AWARDS.
The Smalls Showcase & Awards is brought to you by The Smalls, a curator of independent short film and committed to the discovery of new creative talent. The 2007 Smalls Showcase & Awards invites you to put your creative energies and original voice on display before others in the creative community. Could it get any better? Yes! See – what’s an even BIGGER deal is that you will have your work viewed and critiqued by professionals in the creative and entertainment industries who are also commissioners of content.
If your work is shortlisted it will be on display during the Showcase on September 19-20 2007. And if your entry becomes a favorite with the jury, you could win one of The Smalls Awards 2007.
This year’s theme is SIGNS. Your interpretation of this can be anything between heaven and earth – maybe it’s your secret ‘I love you’ sign or maybe it’s the intergalactic sign you got when that flying saucer landed in your back yard last night. Whatever it is, we just want you to share it!
Basically we want you to go as far as you can, or nowhere at all – just use your creativity. The more you entertain and move the audience, the greater the chance that you will walk away with an award. How do you start to pull this off? Just send your piece to us, and attach the entry form you can find at the bottom of this page.
So, what are the rules? They’re easy too: Your film should not be more than 5 minutes long and you need to send it to us before August 31 2007. The winner will be announced at The Smalls Awards in September 2007.
