Moving conjures up all kinds of thigs for different people. For me it means moving house, living in a variety of countries and meeting a variety of cultures. My film, The Scotch, is a news-report spoof look at the stereotypes the English have for the Scottish. Shot in Edinburgh I ask members of the general public, some English, some Scottish, amusing and, sometimes, awkward questions based on cultural stereotypes.
I hope, although my angle is from an English perspective, the end film actually comes across as much more sympathetic towards the Scots in the film as the characters’ warmth and humour shines through.

Inspiration Statement

1.  We should never make assumptions about people.
2.  We shouldn’t take ourselves too seriously.

Hi There
I have been writing to a few of the filmmakers on the Smalls WebSite to see if they would be interested in showing their films at our Arts Centre in Ireland.

The Belltable is based in Mid West Ireland in Limerick and is the City's only cultural cinema facility. This year we are celebrating our 25th Anniversary and are hosting some special events. This year we wanted to host a seires of shorts as part of our season from September to December and I wanted to know whether you might be interested in allowing us to show The Scotch ?
The Belltable is developing over the next few years as a centre that will develop young practitioners and artists and I am trying to establish a platform for Short Film makers and animators to raise the profile of their work.

Could you let me know whether you would be interested and if so what would be the assoicated costs?

If you would like more information on us please go to www.belltable.ie and have a look around the website.

Look forward to hearing from you
