Whilst trekking across Dartmoor, a sister reads to her brother about a local legend; of a young woman (Ida Temperance Smith) who went missing up on the moor, and of her husband who went out to look for her. We see this Gothic tale (a mixture of live-action and animation) unfold from all three points of view.

The sound was a bit spotty at times because of the outdoor recording, and I didn't get that it was a brother and sister at first.  Loved the pacing of it though, and I can see why they featured it - it does have a complete story.  Great work!  How long did it take to make?

Hi, thanks for your comments. It was shot over three days (on my HDV camera) at three different locations. I am still ametur at the moment, so I was trying to do most things at once; direct, script supervise and camera operate. It was just me, a couple of family members and an actor friend. The animation took the longest, at least a couple of months. I know what you mean about the sound...recording good audio is my next challenge!

I agree - I do think if you re-record the dialogue it would be much more effective.  Have you thought about looping the dialogue using Garageband or something? - SS

Thanks, that's a good idea...I'll look into that definitely.

Hi Andrew

You should deffinatly be pleased with yourself, as its a complete story, entertaining in format, and contains some interesting shots.

Sound is always the hardest thing to get right especially in the open.

Look forward to seeing your next piece.

Very, very nicely done. Beautiful images, lighting, story, etc. etc. The actors are very good. Choice of shots, props, animation and all are really excellent. You definitely have talent as a director or as an art director or cinematographer. I will look for any other projects you do, hopefully in the movie theatre!
