Following such great shorts as the storm trooper 'Cops' spoof a few years back I started to watch porntrooper in anticipation of something equally as smart. Who ever created this short clearly has the production ability to rival this work, and I cannot fault the effects, shot composition or editing. They even have an authentic storm trooper costume, not cheap. Unfortunately all I'm left feeling after viewing this short is 'what a waste'. What starts out with great potential, ends up as no more than a ATAT knob gag. On an anorak level, and I may as well add one this is star wars after all. Storm troopers are adjusted clones of Jango Fett and as such have no sexual orientation or desire? I wonder whether this then is more an expression of the the directors own fantasies rather than that of a tropper. Thank god the creator throught to write a description as there was little to explain what was actually going on in the movie itself, treason? guilty? I would urge who ever created this to make something smarter with their undeniable talent, and write this off like as their Phantom Menace.
Thankyou Mr/Mrs/Mis Stopframe for your
insightful and informed critique of my film. You are quite right in sugesting
this film is an expression of my own fantasies, perhaps you could send me a
photo of yourself covered in penut butter so in future I can include you in
them.
I notice you are the only person adding
comments on this site. Clearly you are being paid to do so by "The
Smalls" in order to try and encourage other people do the same. Good luck
my freind, I wish you all the best.
PS. Have you got any work on the site
yourself? I look forward to seeing it. I'm sure their is much we can all learn
from as wizened a sage as yourself

i liked it alot, very sexually orientated, stars wars meets asian cinema. Keep up the good work!!
I'm afraid that I don't actually have any shorts/smalls of my own and I don't claim to be a director. Without going into detail my career is partly in representation, and believe it or not I'm employed for my commercial eye and production experience critiquing and rating work for clients. I discovered the smalls site via apple, and I'm in no way affiliated with them. For the few smalls that I have had time to view, the least I feel that owe the film makers for posting their work is my opinion. What other reason is there for people to post work on these sites.
I apologise that my critique prompted you to reply in such a personal way. I'm quite use to this response, and my line of work is littered with directors who aren't prepared to listen to any view point but their own, and whose egos are always bigger than their professional bank balances because of it. So good luck my friend, I wish you all the best.
The only point I was trying to make is that with all the genius and entertainment of 'What the F**k is Parkour' this film seems rather unsophisticated by comparison. It's a shame with your writing skills that this wasn't the next Chad Vader or Star Wars Cops. I also don't share the appreciation in superrods comments of Star Wars meets Asian cinema. By Asian cinema does he just mean that you've cast an Asian Ardama character? Is that the basis for his or her cultural cinema comparison?
Please please give us more of your great observational and satirical Parkour style comedy and pour it into Star Wars or other popular culture. Like Parkour I'm sure that it would be a fusion that would see it right up there as the most viewed on the site and others.
All the best
wise sage x
PS. You're friend Nimrod ain't going to want to see me naked.
Fair enough.
You have my apologies.
Glad you liked the Parkour film. I've got a 15min version if you'd like to see it. It's called "Rabbit and Nimrod Parkour to the Danger Zone". Let me know if you want me to send you a copy.

wow what diatribulossity. Very enjoyable reading but i noticed a couple of typo and grammatical errors in the critique though. That is unforgivable in any serious critique especially when one is in danger of hurting the film maker`s feelings. What about a disposable short? One that the film makers know is going to be binned while still in production? Actually I`ve already made 3 so don`t get any ideas..
oh and f**k spelt fuck?
Very funny first and foremost, well shot and very well animated & edited.
I have to agree a little with previous comments in that such obvious skill could be used to better use rather than 'Banksy-esque' wanking (bit nineties).
However, not a knock. I am intrigued to see what else you come up with.
Thanks Ashley,
I enjoyed reading your comment. I made this film a long time ago now but it is great that it still sort of lives on within the internet.
