The Tenth Floor at
El Flamingo; and currently produce commercials, on-line content and comedic movie shorts.
Their movie short,
Measuring Up, was selected as a finalist for
Comedy Central’s:
Test Pilot Competition.
Jesse and Yannis make up a comedy fuckhouse, all-in-one comedy and film production team that fulfills the demand for short-form original content.
Jesse Scaturro is a director, editor, sculptor, photographer, art-director and writer. He served as Associative Creative Director for A.K.A Advertising Inc. and for Nitro. Amongst other noteworthy accounts and projects --print and air-- he has written, art directed and overseen the production of Foot Locker, Champs and Nike commercials, including a super bowl commercial starring basketball star, Kevin Garnett, that he wrote and art-directed. Additionally, he was an Art Director with Grey Advertising Inc. He currently shows his photography and sculpture at galleries in NYC. He is excited to have his name on the door and quit the advertising business because he knew that he would have been fired when he turned 40 anyway. He was born with a Right Branch Bundle Blockage in one of his heart chambers and has a heart murmur. He does not allow this to interfere with eating Sunday sauce. He tells people he has an extra heart beat because he has extra love to give. He is often credited with starting the trend of calling people, “boss”. He graduated from the School of Visual Arts in NYC and has never screamed or raised his voice to date.
Yannis Pappas is a standup comedian, writer and actor, philosopher and poet. His work has been featured on television on networks such as VH1’s Best Week Ever, BET, National Lampoon and Comedy Central. He performed on tour with Donnell Rawlings and Charlie Murphy, on the Chapelle’s Show cast, “I’m Rich Bitch” comedy tour. He currently performs standup comedy in clubs and at colleges all over. He is a graduate of Toronto’s Humber College One Year Comedy Program. He co-founded, wrote and starred in the sketch comedy show, The Tenth Floor which performed all over NYC and off-Broadway at Club El Flamingo. Some interesting facts about Yannis: he was a 9/11 disaster relief case manager and worked with mentally ill, chemically addicted and formerly homeless people. He is known for having coined the adage, “we are all just fungus growing on a rock.” Yannis is afraid of chemical stimulates and can often be heard raising his voice. He graduated from The American University in Washington D.C. where he majored in History and American Studies and minored in Literature. He acknowledges that this only prepared and/or qualified him for maybe a high school diploma. Being funny is really the only thing he is good at, no matter what his mother might say.
Jesse and Yannis grew up together in Park Slope, Brooklyn. They both agree that the fart, in and of itself, is the funniest entity. They are very passionate about comedy, film, fine art and aesthetics.
