A Gothic Romance is a special kind of Romeo and Juliet because the couple is offbeat in the way that they have extra sensory perception . Both have a way of getting in touch with the unknown . The man is labelled as schizzophrenic and is institutionilized . There he is mistreated , beaten to death , and left at a roadside dead . The women has a preminition about her lovers death and in turn drowns herself . Now wether the couple met and fell in love while the man was institutinalized or wether they met at all - that their love was extra sensory is all in question . The music is by Debussy and of course the ending poem is by Emily Dickinson .
