Congratulations on winning at the Smalls Short Film Fest 2011!  I really enjoyed the film. It was beautifully shot and had a great gentle narrative pace that really set up characters and the payoff really well. There were lots of character entrances and exits in shots that really helped set the scene and the location. Yet every frame was considered and noting felt long.  You really took in the location and slowly unfolded their journey with a sense of effortless direction and camera work. I'm sure smooth tracking was not easy on some of the incline dirt tacks :).  I also loved the performances from Doreen and Christine, who went from two serious and determined old ladies to a mischievous school boy ring leader and his aspiring side kick. Brilliant.

Thanks for the encouraging critique Andi, for ones work to be appreciated by people who understand the nuts and bolts of the process is a big compliment. Making this gentle little tale was a complete manic exertion, however winning this award has made all the meticulous planning, effort & stress worth it a thousand times over. A massive thank you to all at The Smalls. fx

Really enjoyed this film. The ending was surprising the first time, and the second time I watched it the stellar performances still carried it through. Well done for making this, and congratulations on your Smalls win!
