A Place In Time

Hoxton Square. Birdsongs, baby laughter, the murmur of traffic, a church bell, partial whisperings and distanced conversations. Sounds influencing the awareness and intensity of a spectator. In my piece everything and everyone is coexisting at the same time. It is a consolidation of a series of observations, images, film and sound documented on different occasions, sometimes days apart, and then layered on top of each other. The square becomes a new setting, a bench a time capsule where people from different circumstances sit comfortably beside one another. The red light of evening sun makes one façade blush and the first morning light brakes through the tree branches right next to it.
