Peru Llaqta was made two years ago, it was my first own production.  It was recorded in one of the poorest places in Lima: "Villa el Salvador".  This place was founded 20 years ago by several immigrants that came from Ayacucho (one of the peruvian states that suffered the most because of the terrorism) to Lima.  For this reason I chose Villa el Salvador to be my main location, where Arcadia's house is. The little house where Arcadia lives in Peru Llaqta is a real house in Villa el Salvador that i rented for a day to a really poor family.  The way they live in there is really shocking. A woman and her three sons lived in a two tiny rooms house.
Other location was one of the biggest markets in lima: "el mercado de Santa Anita". This is a rural market that sells meats, fruits, and other kinds of products.  In there, I rented a potato stand and I sit Arcadia there to work for a couple of hours.  I was really looking for a life-like effect in the production, so I made it all as real as if possible.  My actress actually sold potatoes, and I was recording everything from the other corner of the street.
This Short Film was originally in Quechua, one of the Incas' languages, because the biggest part of the people affected by terrorism were from Ayacucho and, in there, Quechua is the most spoken language.  So I looked for an actress who had all the characteristics needed for the role and could speak in Quechua.  That was one of the hardest part.

I almost forget, the soundtrack is from "UCHPA" a peruvian rock / blues band wich lyrics are in quechua.

thank you for making this film.
The indigenous people of Peru are so very poor. Especially the people that live in the outskirts of Lima.
I know Lima,I  lived there for several months, and I saw the state of the poverty of these people.
