HEADSET (2008)

Short synopsis
An experimental fictional film which focuses on the daily routine of a robotized, mannequin nuclear family of yester-year, who’s only form of communication is message’s sent via TV program’s from the monitors they have for heads.

Inspiration statement
The inspiration behind this film is that of a combined TV reality show and soap opera formats which make up the bulk of popular TV programming today. The type of soap opera it reflects is the more naturalistic and unglamorous view of the daily life of a family in a specific location, like Coronation Street or Eastenders. Obvious similarity’s to these program formats are the open-ended narrative, coverage of topical issues, it is set in familiar domestic interior and what we see is repetition from days that form the lives of this family in its simplest essence.
