The Smalls is honored to announce the addition of producer and film-festival luminary Elliot Grove to The Smalls Film Festival judging panel. He is without a doubt one of the most significant figures in the independent film scene, and over the years has supported countless talented young filmmakers – many of whom are now household names – during the infancy of their careers.
Elliot Grove founded Raindance Film Festival in 1993, the British Independent Film Awards in 1998, and Raindance TV in 2007.
He has produced over 150 short films, and 5 feature films. He has written eight scripts. He teaches writers and producers in the UK, Europe, Japan and America. He has presided over the launch of some of this countries most interesting filmmakers. Edgar Wright was his first intern, Guy Ritchie and Matthew Vaughn met at a Raindance course in the mid 1990's, Christopher Nolan and Gareth Edwards (Monsters) all launched their careers following film training courses at Raindance.
He has written three books which have become industry standards: RAINDANCE WRITERS LAB 2nd Edition (Focal Press 2008), RAINDANCE PRODUCERS LAB (Focal Press 2004) and 130 PROJECTS TO GET YOU INTO FILMMAKING (Barrons 2009).
We are very excited for Elliot’s presence on our already VIP-studded panel. His input will be a significant and invaluable contribution that we hope all of our members will pay attention to over the coming weeks. Welcome!
