Listen up –
The Smalls Street Sounds filmmaking competition, brought to you in association with
Scion, is officially OPEN! We invite you to create an original short film inspired by the sonic landscape of cities. You have until March 26, 2010 to submit your film.
Travel through our interactive Sound Map to source inspiration and sound effects for your production. From the cliffs at Half Moon Bay in California to the streets of North Miami, Florida you can choose between human, animal, mechanic, atmospheric and weather sounds to bring your story to life. We want you to entertain us with your own unique application or spin on these sounds with a short film based in any genre.
The Rules
Qualifying films must:
1. Interpret ONE of the following themes:
- The Street
- A State of Mind
- America
- The Unexpected
2. Use and credit THREE or more sounds from the Sound Map
3. Keep to a maximum length of 3 minutes + 1 minute of credits
Deadline
Entries must be submitted by March 26, 2010.
The Process
All entered films are screened on
www.thesmalls.com. After the public vote determines a shortlist, a distinguished panel of judges from the film, television and media industry selects the winners.
Prizes
Winners will each take home a new digital camera and see their achievements celebrated in a full-page ad in Variety.
